In a June 2016 tax reform blueprint, House Republicans proposed a “border adjustment tax,” a tax levied on imported goods (Forbes). Such a tax is supported by House Speaker Paul Ryan, among others , but has been criticized by President Trump and other leaders (CNBC, Bloomberg, Forbes). A border adjustment tax on specific countries or industries will count. The tax does not need to take effect or become law for a "yes” resolution. Confused? Check our FAQ or ask us for help.
